It was a triple celebration for the Morelos family when Vincent Gabriel, the much awaited heir of Dr. Vince and Grace (Morelos) Avanzado, was baptized on the day of his maternal grandparents’ (Nestor and Gingging Morelos) 40th wedding anniversary, which also happened to be Gingging’s birthday.
The red-letter occasion began with a Thanksgiving Mass and renewal of vows officiated by Cebu Archbishop Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal at the chapel of the Archibishop’s residence. The baptismal ceremony immediately followed with little VG surrounded by an array of ninongs and ninangs.
Familly and friends trooped to Laguna Garden Cafe for the lunch reception which featured a very special menu (lamb was the main dish) personally planned by kitchen queen Lita Urbina.

Myra Sun, Dr. Maureen Santos, Mia Cuenco and Glenn were so touched seeing close friends of their late Mom in attendance...made them realize more than ever how much she was loved and appreciated. Dinner followed at the well-appointed home of of Dr. Albert and Dr. Maureen Santos.
We in the Sun.Star Cebu family miss Jo’s inimitable writing style. Daughter Myra S. says her Mom’s shoes are too big for her to fill in, but she has promised to write a monthly column in our food pages.
