Tourists to visit more towns

BALIKBAYANS and foreigners who are in town for the Sinulog will have a chance to see the countryside.

The Cebu Provincial Government is again organizing a tour for the southern part of Cebu as this year’s first Suroy-Suroy Sugbo.

The tour will run from Jan. 23 to 25.

The Suroy-Suroy is an annual tourism project of Cebu Province. It features the best of Cebuano culture and heritage in 20 towns.

Proximity

Department of Tourism 7 Director Patria Aurora Roa admitted that because of the proximity of the Suroy-Suroy dates to the Sinulog celebration, it is expected that more ba-likbayans will extend their stay to join the three-day tour.

They can also expect a better package this time compared to the previous ones.

Capitol consultant on culture and performing arts Junjet Primor said the presentation will showcase Cebuano music, dance, poetry and even food.

Decency will also be seen in the costumes of dancers performing before the tourists.

The Suroy-Suroy package is offered at very affordable prices for those who want to join. (MBG)
