Speak out: ‘Misleading’ page
By Luis Cibal
Lahug, Cebu City

YOUR Page 5 in the Jan. 30, 2008 issue of Sun.Star at first misled me into thinking that it contained editorial material, a news feature about Compostela.

I soon realized it was pure advertisement presented in the paper's look and style---except for the absence of a headline for the main story and caption for the huge photo, and, yes, the lengthy telling and lavish praise.

Many other readers must have been similarly misled.

Editors’ reply:

We're sorry. The page, being an ad page, passed only through Advertising Department, which inadvertently missed the requirements of the tagline "Advertisement" and/or enclosing the page with box lines. We are adopting additional safeguard in our procedure. Thanks.
