Higher positions await newly promoted officers whom the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 pinned new ranks on last Monday.
Nearly 800 officers were promoted to the next higher rank, which, PRO 7 Director Ronald Roderos said, will help them get assigned to higher positions.
Those ranked inspector can now be designated chief of police of a town police station.
For those now promoted to the rank of superintendent, they can expect to head a police station for a component city.
A pinning of new ranks was held for newly promoted officials last Monday while those promoted to ranks SPO4 and lower held the pinning ceremonies in the offices where they were assigned to.
Newly promoted officers from chief inspector to the rank of superintendent are Provincial Mobile Group Chief Julian Entoma; Criminal Investigation and Detection Group’s Rex Derilo, Anecito Perandos, and Reynold Andot; Balamban Police Chief Anthony Bagarinao; and Fuente Police Chief Henry Biñas.
Spouses Resty and Emelie Santos were promoted to chief inspector, along with Carlos Lacuesta Jr., Artemio Ricabo, Aureo Sanchez, Claudio Casiban, Ali Baron, Maribel Getigan, Petronilo Gracia Jr., Crisanto Duque and Lorenzo Batuan.
Felix Pacaldo was promoted to senior inspector while those promoted to inspector were Rodolfo Amodia, Rica Aying, Jorge Macapobre, Damiano Montebon Jr., Federico Gasalao Jr., Patrocenio Baylosis Jr. and Wilfredo Tauto-an.
Cebu Provincial Police Office Director Carmelo Valmoria said that under his office, 117 police officers were promoted to SPO1 while 58 were promoted to SPO2.
He said he will now include Bagarinao and Entoma in the list of qualified police chiefs that city mayors ran choose from to head their police force.
Carcar City, which became a component city as determined in a plebiscite last year, is still headed by an officer-in-charge ranked SPO3. (MEA)
