86 join DBTC fiesta

EIGHTY-six teams have confirmed their entry for the Don Bosco Technological Center Football Festival on Feb. 9 at the DBTC campus in Punta Princesa.

The coaches of the different schools met yesterday to submit their lineup at DBTC.

The host DBTC will be joined by Sacred Heart School-Jesuits, Giuseppe, Cebu International School, Sacred Heart-Hijas de Jesus, San Roque Football Club, Inter Lapu-Lapu, Cebu National Science High School, Melbourne United, Peppers, University of Cebu, University of the Philippines, University of Southern Philippines Foundation, USP Alumni, Don Bosco Boys Home, FC Inter Cebu, Jaguars (alumni from University of San Jose Recoletos), Santos, No to Drugs FC, Queen City, Don Bosco People (alumni from DB Lawaan), Cebu State College of Science and Technology, Don Bosco United and a team from San Carlos City, Sta. Rita.

The teams will battle in the Boys 7-Under, 8-Under, 10-Under, 12-Under, 14-Under and Girls 14-Under with 5-man teams, while each team will field seven players in the Girls 17-Under, Boys 17-Under, Men’s Open, Women’s Open and 38 and above.

The event will have a single-round robin in each bracket, before the top teams square off for the semifinals and finals.

Tournament director Glenn Ramos is still waiting for additional teams to participate in this one-day football festival and has extended the deadline until tomorrow. (EKA)
