Saturday, February 09, 2008 Bobby works for his big break
IT runs in the blood, but hard work counts.
RP ring idol Manny Pacquiao’s brother Bobby heightens his training at the Wildcard Gym.
The younger Pacquiao who holds a 28-13, 3 KOs card, is up for a big challenge against Mexican Urbano Antillon at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas.
The fight will take place just two days before his brother’s big rematch with World Boxing Council (WBC) super featherweight king Juan Manuel Marquez at the Mandalay Bay.
Analysts say Bobby will be on an uphill battle against Antillon, a reputed knockout puncher who holds a 21-0, 14 KOs card.
If he succeeds, Bobby, who has been under the shadow of his brother, will get a big break to etch his own name world boxing.
Antillon’s last three matches didn’t go beyond the third round, a proof to the man’s power.
Aside from Bobby, other boxers undergoing training in the US are Rodel Mayol, Bernabe Concepcion, Gerry Peñalosa, Vernie Torres and Diosdado Gabi. (ESL of Superbalita)
