Friday, February 15, 2008 Grand Blue Restaurant opens
AN exciting range of Korean, Japanese and Filipino cuisine is put in one place at the Grand Blue Restaurant along Juan Luna Ave., Mabolo.
An exclusive Korean restaurant before, it has widened its dishes to cater to the varied palette of its diners.
“Before, we have mostly Korean diners. But when we started to offer Japanese and Filipino foods, we have Japanese, Filipinos and Filipino-Chinese enjoying our food. We almost tripled the traffic!” said Mildred Gonzalez, restaurant manager.
“We also want to Koreans to enjoy and appreciate Filipino and Japanese food as well as we like Filipinos to enjoy Korean and Japanese food,” said Philip Han, chef cook.
Han, who maintains a restaurant in Korea, decided to open an outlet in Cebu after several visits to the country. “I love the ocean, I love Cebu,” he said.
Operating for five months now, Han said he make it sure to provide diners with a variety of food offerings. For buffet, Grand Blue prepares around 15 main courses and 10 varieties of sashimi and sushi.
Buffet lunch and dinner are affordably priced at P280 and P300 respectively. A special midnight discount is offered from 10 p.m. to 12 midnight.
Among the restaurant’s favorites include its fried chicken wrapped in pandan leaves, which is a hit among Koreans, and its wide choices of tuna sashimi and sushi.
“There are a lot of things you can do with tuna and the good thing is, we can source it fresh,” said Han.
Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and its midnight special from 10 p.m. to 12 midnight. (JSC)
