Husband catches wife with lover

SURE that his wife was with her lover, a man sought police help and caught them inside a rented room of a beach resort in Compostela, Cebu Thursday night.

Worse, their child was reportedly with them in the room.

The man arrived at the police station and told police that his wife and her lover had checked into a room of a beach resort.

SPO2 Ramon Perales, one of the three police officers who went with the husband, said the man had long suspected his wife of having an affair and was sure that she and her lover entered one of the cottages of the resort.

Asked if he was sure and asked to produce proof that he was married to the woman, the husband pulled out his wallet and showed police their marriage contract.

“Naluoy man mi niya, mao nang amo siyang giubanan (We felt sorry for him that’s why we accompanied him to the resort),” Perales said.

Private room

The husband, along with members of Compostela’s Civilian Anti-Crime Organization (Caco), caught the woman, 31, and her lover, 25, inside one of the cottages of a beach resort in Sitio Lutao, Barangay Estaca.

Because the resort was a private establishment and the owner told police not to go inside the room, members of the Caco were the ones who went inside.

There they saw the woman and the man “cohabiting by themselves inside the room of the beach resort.”

“Naggakos (locked in embrace)” was how they described the couple.

The child was also in the room.

Perales could not say how old the child was but said the child was small enough to be carried.

The woman made initial claims that her lover was the child’s father but reportedly took it back.

The man also admitted they were having an affair.

Perales told Sun.Star Cebu yesterday that the husband was surprisingly calm and even felt like letting go of the case.

“Naluoy na lang kuno siya. Iya na lang kuno pasayluon (He felt sorry for her. That’s why he was thinking of forgiving her),” Perales said.

Careful

The husband suggested recording the incident in the police blotter and having his wife pledge not to do it again.

However, Perales said that instead of immediately releasing the woman and her lover, they were asked to remain at the Compostela Police Station for the night.

Perales explained that they were just being careful in case the husband would try to harm either of them out of spite.

“We just wanted to make sure the husband wouldn’t beat his wife or kill her. That would have been a bigger headache,” he said in Cebuano.

Perales, though, said he already warned the husband not to hurt his wife before they proceeded to the resort.

The husband returned to the police station the next day and still had not decided whether he wanted to pursue the filing of charges.

This led them to release the woman and the man.

Should the husband change his mind, Perales said members of Caco could still serve as witnesses while they (the police) could always help with the paperwork. (MEA)
