THE CFC - Youth for Christ (YFC) Campus-based sector celebrated God’s love during their annual Campus Conference (Campus Con) at the University of the Philippines-Cebu Conference Hall last Feb. 24.
With the theme “Heart Attack”, more than 150 YFC members from seven different campuses ‘attacked’ and gathered before His love. The participating schools were Cebu Normal University, Cebu Institute of Technology, Southwestern University, University of Cebu, Saint Theresa’s College, University of the Philippines and Velez College.
“The theme Heart Attack is a manifestation of God’s mighty love literally and figuratively attacking our hearts and our whole being,” Central 2 Campus Program head Camille Travilla, said.
With YFC heads Paolo Neri (Talk1-The God Who Blessed Us), Madel Solijon (Talk2-The God That Never Leaves Us) and Joanner Algarme (Talk3-We Want The World To Know) as speakers, each sharing mainly focuses on the different means on how God’s love is felt by the sector.
“We are blessed because we are chosen, because we are called, because we are loved,” Neri said.
Campus Con also served as the culminating activity for the annual YFC Campus Tour, a series of campus-based activities that aim to market Christ in different high school and college institutions. This took place last Feb. 18-22 and participated in by the entire YFC campuses in Cebu province.
Jeremie Villarin, Campus Con event head, said every Campus Con is unique in itself because it has always been a celebration for the blessings received not only by the sector and the YFC members but to the community in general.
“Every day, we are encouraged to love and share this love to more and more people. God’s love lives in us so, we must continue to love and be humble,” Sherwin Boholano, Campus Con event head, said.
