Woman in drugs watchlist arrested in Talisay City raid

A WOMAN in the list of suspected drug pushers in Cebu Province was arrested by operatives of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (Paidsotf) Sunday morning.

Restituta Pangatungan, who is also known as “Rustic,” yielded 104 sachets of what is believed to be shabu during a raid in Sitio Hawod, Barangay Bulacao, Talisay City.

Supt. Erson Digal, deputy provincial director for operations and head of Paidsotf, told reporters yesterday that Pangatungan is a level three pusher, or one who can dispose of up to P500,000 worth of shabu each week.

He said Pangatungan’s name has figured in reports as a supplier of shabu in Talisay City, Carcar City and other municipalities in Cebu’s first district.

Surveillance

After a week-long surveillance, police applied for a search warrant before the sala of Judge Silvestre Maamo.

At 10:30 a.m., they served the warrant and seized the sachets, P600 in cash and three cellular phones.

The sachets were later taken to the Regional Crime Laboratory for analysis.

Digal said they have directed all police chiefs to conduct at least one anti-drug operation a week.

“We believe there are a lot of drugs circulating in the province that’s why issued the directive,” Digal said in Cebuano.

He said a report of non-performing police stations will be submitted to Cebu Provincial Police Office Director Carmelo Valmoria for him to take action.

Digal said Paidsotf will be focusing on big-time drug pushers. (MEA)
