Wednesday, March 05, 2008 60 schools, establishments in Education expo
ORGANIZED by the CEO Events and Expos Organizers and the Coalition for Better Education, the recently concluded Education Expo at SM City Cebu Trade Hall intends to allow educational institutions feature their services and provide options for students and parents to choose a school, said Rudolf Kotik, event organizer.
Around 60 schools, training centers and education-related establishments converged at the first Education expo which was officially opened by Education Secretary Jesli Lapus.
Julia Christina Morata, assistant to the director for scholarships of Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), the expo supports ADMU’s effort to recruit the “best” students nationwide.
She said that ADMU also welcomes students from the provinces. She said that 12 percent of ADMU’s students enjoy scholarships.
Call Center Academy (CCA) joined the expo for further exposure and promotion.
Krystalle Ong, CCA managing director, said “aside from the academic institutions you see around, CCA gives an alternative. What we are offering is more like a vocational course as we aim to develop the communication skills of our trainees.”
CCA supports the call center industry by providing quality and competent applicants.
3dsense Media School, a Singapore-based animation and computer graphics school joined the expo to increase awareness about the school and the animation industry in general.
“There is a big demand for animators and computer graphic artists. Big studios making animated games or movies are making their projects in Asia,” said Sen Lai, media education director. (JSC)
