Atan Guardo nails 1st win in K-Gallery
THE ATAN Guardo-Sherilin Plastics conquered a sluggish start to beat Alejandro’s, 71-69, for its first win in the 2008 K Gallery First Conference basketball tournament at the Visayan Glass Gym in Guadalupe.
Trailing by eight, 12-20 entering the second quarter, Atan Guardo-Sherilin came up with a rousing 41-29 binge in the second and third quarters to take a 53-49 lead going to the payoff period.
It was an air-tight battle in the fourth before the Atan Guardo squad came out victorious with a two-point winning margin.
In the other games, MJV Builders defeated USC Law, 70-59, and Daks Kakanin erased an 11-point deficit in the first to score a come-from-behind 60-58 victory over Herea Salon and Spa.
