Guv says just move ahead

FOR the first time in quite some time, Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia agreed with Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña, that Cebu should move ahead despite what is going on in Manila.

Garcia said she is tired with the political turmoil in Manila.

“As far as what’s happening in the National Capital Region, ma-switch off man ang akong utok,” Garcia told reporters when asked about the scrapping of the Executive Order 464 or the infamous “gag order.”

“That is never ending. They filed a case against EO 464, what’s next? Kapoy na kaayo,” Garcia continued.

Petition

She was referring to a petition pending before the Supreme Court questioning the legality of EO 464, which was eventually revoked by President Arroyo.

Lately, Garcia said she was more interested in the United States (US) democratic primaries, especially after hearing that US Sen. Hillary Clinton, who is running for President, won in three states.

As far as Cebu is concerned though, Cebuanos should just keep on working.

Garcia noted the opening of the Cebu International Furniture and Furnishings Exhibition 2008 last Thursday.

“They are showcasing Cebu furnitures vigilantly and with resilience,” said Garcia.

“We’d rather walk than talk,” she added. (JGA)
