Fans hail Marquez

MEXICAN icon Juan Manuel Marquez showed Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao isn’t the only one who has a vocal support group in the United States as a throng of well-wishers greeted the reigning WBC super featherweight champion when he arrived in Las Vegas for his March 16 (RP time) rematch with Pacquiao.

Wearing a sombrero Marquez, shook hands and took his time to sign autographs for his eager American fans.

Marquez is in LA for Monday’s final press conference of their upcoming epic rematch dubbed “Unfinished Business” at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

In the press conference at the La Placita Olvera, Pacquiao and Marquez will be joined by Top Rank president Bob Arum, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach and Marquez trainer Ignacio Beristain.

Marquez’s WBC belt is on the line for this grudge rematch along with the vacant Ring Magazine “People’s Champion” super feather weight title.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao was in the right weight with only a couple more of days left before their anticipated bout.

The 29-year-old tipped the scales at 133 pounds when members of the WBC went to the famed Wild Card Gym to check on the Filipino superstar last Saturday. (EKA)
