Gwen gets warm welcome from former critics in Bantayan

CEBU Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia yesterday said the warm reception shown by public officials in Sta. Fe town in Bantayan Island clearly shows that her administration delivered effective public service.

Garcia, along with Cebu Provincial Board Members Joven Mondigo, Jose Ma. Gastardo and other local officials, led the distribution of various projects in Sta. Fe town.

Rep. Benhur Salimbangon (Cebu, 4th district) also assisted the governor in the turnover of the classrooms in the municipality.

Jeanette P. Malinao, Capitol consultant on mass and electronic media information dissemination, said Garcia also turned over firetrucks and a mini-ambulance to the municipality.

Malinao said that Salimbangon also turned over 10 personal computers and a microscope to the public schools in town.

Garcia was thrilled by the warmth shown by elected officials allied to her critics, said Malinao.

It simply showed that the governor delivered efficient public service even to opposition towns, she added.

The governor and local officials also launched a supplemental feeding program in Sta. Fe. (GMD)
