Vice-Gov softball resumes

AFTER a long wait, the semifinals of the Vice Governor Gregory Sanchez Softball Cup will be played today at the Labangon Elementary School grounds.

Tournament organizer Dionisio Bacarisas said that the overdue semifinal matches will surely put more fire to the teams as they had waited and prepared for two weeks.

The Seniors’ B division semifinal matches will be in the morning, while the Senior’s A plays in the afternoon.

Opening the hostilities this morning will be the Grand Royal Spa and Poblacion-Talisay, the No.1 and No.2 teams in the Senior’s B division to be followed by the No.3 Sibonga vs. No.4 Sho-Paknaan-Mandaue City.

The GRS Padres finished the elimination round with a 7-1 win-loss card, while Poblacion-Talisay, Sibonga and Paknaan-Mandaue City ended with identical 5-3 slates.

However, Poblacion-Talisay displayed their toughness in the playoffs to secure the No.2 spot.

In the afternoon, the undefeated Seniors’ A squad Isle Of Man Sluggers, will play bitter rival the Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology Blazing Batters while No.3 team Aldritz Pau plays Locan of Lapu-Lapu City in the main match. (RCM)
