Only 10-15% of Filipinos have insurance

DAVAO—An official of Philamlife claimed that only 10 to 15 percent of the Filipinos are covered by insurance.

“That is why it is very important on our part to show the benefits of our services and life insurance programs so that people can realize how it can help them,” Rolan Enriquez, senior assistant vice president of Philamlife, said in Friday's press conference at the Royal Mandaya Hotel.

He said Philamlife has tried to package its life insurance programs aside from its traditional insurances with the introduction and launching of its newest variable product, the AIG Asset Builder.

Encourage

“This is to encourage people to start getting insurance. We will continuously expand our services and product lines to reach to as many Filipinos,” Enriquez said.

AIG Asset Builder, according to Michel Khalaf, Philamlife deputy president, is the first of its kind and the only product in the market now that's free from initial charges.

“You can finally maximize 100 percent of your total investment with this product,” Khalaf said.

AIG Asset Builder minimum annual investment is P25,000.

The minimum investment per fund and minimum maintaining balance per fund are currently set at P5,000.

Customize

“You may customize your life protection coverage. It allows you to choose your insurance coverage which may range from five times to as high as 25 times the annual investments,” Khalaf said.

He added that one can monitor the performance of his investment through Philamlife's website, www.ephilam.com.

One will also receive an annual statement of account to give the client an idea of the actual performance of his investments. (JGRS/Sun.Star Davao/Sunnex)
