TLBF adds sprint triathlon to bike contest in Subic

SINCE this year’s Terry Larrazabal Bike Fest will be held in the country’s triathlon capital, Subic, the organizers will stage a triathlon competition as a sidelight to the cycling event.

The Terry Larrazabal event, which starts on April 4, has added the Sprint Distance Triathlon event on April 6.

It features a shorter distances of its 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike and 5-km. run course.

Its categories include the elite and the 23-Under, 23-30, 31-40, 41-50 and 50-above age groups.

All winners in the triathlon event will be getting cash prizes and a pair of Rudy Project eyewear, while all participants will receive Anatomic sublimated jerseys.

The main events of the three-day bike fest are mountain bike, road bike and BMX competitions.

The organizers will accept registrations until March 31 and all interested entries must bring valid identification that will show the date of birth or age of the participant.

The organizer will no longer accept entries once the event starts.

“Due to the number of TLBF participants, we can’t and won’t entertain participants who show up during the day of their event to allow for the smooth-sailing and confusion-free event,” said organizer Gregorio Larrazabal.

In Cebu, interested participants may register at Aison Bike Shop in Banilad, Vellum Cycle Showroom at the Piazza Elesia in Talamban and YKK Bikes in Legazpi St.

Interested riders may contact 0918-908-8523 for more details. (MCB)
