Photo Trip
By Kara Mae Muga Noveda

LOOK and press.

From the beaches to the special parties, the dynamics of preserving special moments has rapidly revolutionized since the arrival of the digital camera, now present in almost any trigger-happy person’s bag. From the point-and-shoot handy versions to the more complicated, heavier gear—it’s hard to resist from taking keepsakes, especially when you’re on a holiday r out of town with chums this summer.

Uploading your pictures for all the world to view (with the selection of online social networks to choose from, Friendster, Multiply, you name it) is a popular option, but nothing beats a printed album of photos. Old school photo albums require you to drop by photo print shops, in order to have your own hard copies, before going through the manual labor of pasting these, page after another.

With the production of the Banana Book (or laid-out glossy album), it’s now easier to take a trip down memory lane by simply flipping through the pages of a lighter album. How to get one? The fun begins in burning selected pictures in a CD, or save them in a USB. Then, bring them over to the layout artist at the shop who will help you place them in a template. It usually takes three to four days to pick up the finished product. Old pictures can likewise be scanned for an additional fee.

Besides which, there’s a good variety of products that will surely appeal to the sentimental nut:

Greeting Cards: Send personalized greeting cards to loved ones abroad and show them what it’s like back at home.

Tumblers: Useful, these drink holders make a good keepsake for your trip, or give as gifts to your hosts.

Magnets: Clueless what to give as pasalubong? Stick the pictures of the popular sites you visited and turn them into photo magnets. They make great personalized pasalubong.

Calendar: Be reminded of one great summer all throughout the year with the banana book’s personalized photo calendars. You may start at any month of the year.

Photo jewelry: A fun, creative, and hip way to show off those summer photos. Have your pictures resized and printed and attach them in these classy accessories.

Pocket Books: As mini banana books, slip them in your pockets or bags and show off your summer photos anytime anywhere. These pocket books come in a pack of three so they also make great gifts to your companions.
