THE Visayas Integrated Schools Swimming Association (Vissa) just got bigger with the entry of Bohol Institute of Technology-International College to its fold.
Vissa official Bas Ceballos said yesterday that BIT-IC, which is their 25th member, is their first club outside Cebu.
BIT-IC joined Vissa since they wanted to improve swimming in Bohol, he said.
Ceballos said that the BIT-IC has a total of 27 swimmers, 10 in college, 12 in the elementary and five from high school and is now starting their training for an upcoming event.
With the entry of the BIT-IC as their latest member, Ceballos said that they will give the BIT-IC a chance to host an event on July 12-13 in celebration of the Sandugo Festival.
Ceballos said that this is one way of promoting the sports and to discover new talents.
He said that they already invited BIT-IC to join their coaching seminar on April 2 to 7 at the University of San Carlos, to help those new swimming instructors since the said school wanted experienced trainer to handle their swimmers. (NSM)
