Capitol sets Bogo visit in Suroy-Suroy

FOR the first time since its conceptualization, the Suroy-Suroy sa Sugbo will make a stopover in Bogo City, an opposition city on April 10.

Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia yesterday met with the businessmen of the city and confirmed her attendance during the city’s fiesta on May 16.

Garcia said that such move is the Capitol’s way of setting aside political differences and focus on unity to maintain the Province’s No. 1 rank among other provinces in the country.

The Suroy-Suroy Sa Sugbo, which will showcase 16 Cebu northern towns, is slated on April 8 to 10.

Garcia said it will be for the first time that Bogo City will “showcase” its rich cultural heritage and other potentials.

The meeting was attended by several members of the Solid Bogo Businessmen Association (SBBA) led by its chairman Junno Lepiten.

For his part, Medellin Municipal Mayor Ricardo Ramirez, who was also present during the meeting, advised the businessmen that if they have any concern about their city, they should not hesitate to ask their local officials to come to the governor.

Ramirez, a former critic of the governor, personally handed over resolutions to Gov. Garcia asking her to undertake several infrastructure projects in his town.

The governor, for her part, expressed willingness to crown the city’s fiesta queen. (GMD)
