Aguilar rules Ornopia Cup

PHILIPPINE Motocross King Glen Aguilar proved that he is still at the top of his game as he ruled the Pro Open in the 2008 MS Motosuit Motocross Series 3rd Leg—the 10th Ornopia Motocross Cup— last Sunday at the Calambua, San Remegio racetrack.

The Philippine 11-time national champion rider, Aguilar, an MS Motosuit image model, displayed his daredevil skills and cutting-edge maneuvering in the mud and death-defying stunts to earn the top award over the promising and last year’s Rider of the Year awardee, Vani Abellar, and Paul Inoc in the exhibition race.

Series organizer Lou Ornopia described the third leg as the most hilarious and the most thrilling series so far.

“Because of the rain, the track was very muddy and so slippery that no rider could finish a lap without difficulty. Not even Glenn could escape but he showed to us, the riders and the public, of what kind a champion rider he is.

He showed us how to maneuver this kind of difficulty that even the one-kilometer lead of Abellar was easily overtaken with his crafty maneuvers,” Ornopia told Sun.Star Cebu.

This is the third time the Series only had one heat because of the slippery track.

Veteran rider Pepo Rubi regained his bearings to rule the Expert division once again and lead in the point system with a total of 55 points after three legs.
Rubi was followed by Abellar and Inoc, respectively.

Inoc, on the other hand, ruled the Master Open with Rex Barbaso and Clark Wagas at second and third. (RCM)
