Speak out: Government is to blame By Mezen D. Meca Larmen de Guia Memorial College
OUR country has many farmers but they do not own the land they are tilling.
They work hard under the heat of the sun just to provide other people their basic need.
It is sad that people who work everyday for the sake of others do not get much in return.
They are among the Filipinos who are suffering from financial crisis because their earnings are not enough to support their families.
Thus, they too fail to provide for the basic needs of their families, especially now that we are in crisis and prices of commodities are going up.
The joke is that everything is rising except one: salary.
And we are suffering because corruption exists and government is deaf to the pleas of Filipinos.
This even as politicians pull each other to the ground for one goal: power.
Their only concern is to get the highest posts and earn money they do not deserve to have.
Should the government be blamed for the rise in the price of rice?
Absolutely.
