MICROTEL Inn and Suites, the rapidly expanding chain of all newconstruction limited service hotels, strengthens its presence in the Philippines with the soft opening of its eighth hotel in June 2008 in one of the country’s premier tourist destinations – Mactan, Cebu.
Microtel Inn and Suites Mactan will be the biggest Microtel worldwide with 161 rooms. It is situated in a prime beachfront property in Punta Engaño, Mactan Island, Lapu-lapu City.
Guestroom features will include imported chiropractic healthy-for-the-back queen-sized beds, individually controlled air-conditioning unit, flat TV with cable channels, complete toilet and bath, electronic keycard entry system, fire sprinklers, multi-function telephone system with IDD/NDD, and a compatible port for fax and modem.
Suite amenities will include a wet bar, refrigerator, coffeemaker, microwave oven and a sofa sleeper. The hotel will also have a restaurant, function rooms, swimming pool and wireless internet access.
Microtel Mactan will also be the first hotel in the country to adopt the award-winning new interior design of Microtel. This new suite design is contemporary and streamlined yet practical, and provides guests with exceptional comfort and the great value that they have come to expect from Microtel. The only one in the chain with a modern retro theme from the lobby to the guestrooms, the interiors will feature an interesting interplay of colors from the walls to the furniture and other room fixtures.
Recently, Microtel won the award for “Best Guestroom Design” in the limited-service category during the HotelWorld Expo and Conference in Las Vegas and was likewise recognized by Lodging Hospitality Magazine with a Chain Leadership Award for Design and Décor.
