Ex-NBI 7 errand boy survives motorbike riders’ attack near agency
A FORMER National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) 7 errand boy was shot near the agency’s office on Capitol Site, Cebu City.
Richard F. Apostol, 33, of Sitio Sampaguita, Barangay Banilad, Cebu City, was shot in the back but survived.
Apostol told Homicide police investigators, led by SPO1 Roger Nedamo, that he was about to enter the NBI 7 gate around 3 p.m. last Saturday when a motorcycle with two riders slowed down near him.
The back-rider, he said, immediately began firing, hitting him once in the back before fleeing on the same motorcycle.
The bullet exited the chest of Apostol, who was rushed by a friend to the Cebu City Medical Center.
NBI 7 confidential agent Eric Ayag informed the Homicide Section of the incident.
Nedamo’s team, which recovered three empty shells of a .32 revolver in the scene, is likewise determining the reason behind the attempt on Apostol’s life.
Meanwhile, electrician Frederico Teves, 42, died yesterday due to several stab wounds.
Nedamo’s team found Teves, an Upper Lagtang, Talisay City resident, already lifeless on Palma St., Barangay San Roque, Cebu City yesterday.
The policemen said three men ganged up on the victim around 12:20 a.m. and took turns in mauling and stabbing him.
Teves’s body was brought to St. Francis Funeral Homes for an autopsy. Investigators have yet to know the motive for the attack. (JST)
