Wednesday, April 23, 2008 Speak out: VSMMC problem By Sam Costanilla Consultant on Media Affairs, Province of Cebu
THE recent YouTube controversy involving some doctors and nurses at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) should reopen negotiations for Capitol to take over its primary and secondary services.
For sure, that unfortunate incident would not have happened had Capitol been given the chance to manage the hospital's primary and secondary services last year, something that the workers strongly opposed.
Perhaps, they're afraid that their bad practices and alleged money-making ventures are stopped once the Capitol comes into the picture.
For as long as the present hospital setup is not corrected, expect more misdeeds and malpractices at the hospital to crop up every now and then.
