Cop on his way to work injured in road accident

A POLICEMAN on his way to the provincial police headquarters to attend a practice exercise on civil disturbance management got into an accident in Toledo City Wednesday morning.

PO1 Aldwin Pepito of the Toledo City Police Station was aboard his motorcycle and was on his way to the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) in Cebu City.

The CPPO has been practicing civil disturbance tactics for an inter-office competition.

When he reached Sitio Salud, Barangay Magdugo at about 7:30 a.m., a dog reportedly crossed the road.

In an attempt to avoid hitting the dog, Pepito lost control of the motorcycle and fell to the ground.

Pepito was taken to the Toledo City District Hospital.

Also, in San Fernando town, a house helper was killed when she got run over by a D’ Rough Riders bus at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Josephine Sevilla Loren-sana, 43, reportedly crossed the street in Barangay San Isidro when the bus, driven by Adelbert Tan Suelto, 29, sped through.

Slumped

Lorensana was slumped on the ground.

Responding policemen SPO2 Victor Cuyno and SPO1 Francisco Salubre had to bring her to the South General Hospital in the City of Naga aboard their patrol jeep.

However, the attending physician declared her dead.

Suelto proceeded to the City of Naga Police Station and surrendered there.

Cuyno and Salubre picked him and brought him back to the San Fernando Police Station. (MEA)
