Cebu All-Stars to face RP football team

IT will be an enormous challenge for Cebu’s elite footballers as they will be up against the powerhouse RP national team in the opening of the 8th Inter-Club Football Tournament at the University of San Carlos Technological Center football field on April 27.

Head coach Glenn Ramos of Don Bosco Technology Center and his staff Bro. Mari Aberasturi of Don Bosco Liloan, Eleazer Toledo of Cebu International School and the Cebu Football Association president Richard Montayre of the Cebu Amateur Football Club will lead the cream of the crop of Cebu City’s football players in an exhibition match with the RP National team.

The RP National team will have a busy day ahead of them as they will be arriving in Cebu City on April 26 in the morning and will be practicing right after in the USC football field for an hour.

After their practice, they will be training children for two hours.

Aside from the exhibition game and training sessions the RP National team will hold pictorials with the Cebuano football fans.

They will be here in Cebu for three days and they will return to Iloilo on the April 28.

Meanwhile the Cebu All-Star team will be finalizing their lineup today during their practice at 3 p.m. at the USCTC football field.

The team already has 24 prospects for their roster chosen by the coaches of the different schools, teams and clubs of Cebu City.

For the Inter Club, 10 teams will be competing in the Men’s Open category, four teams in the Women’s Open, four squads in the 38-above category. The 15-Under and 12-Under divisions will have nine teams each. (EKA)
