Cebu City Dancesport picks 10 pairs

TEN pairs have been chosen to be the members of the Dancesport Team Cebu City following their impressive performances in the second selection competition last week at the Emotions Dancesport Studio at the Cebu City Sports Complex.

The dance athletes were grouped according to three different categories.

The duos Jake Levi Briones and Rochelle Abas, Michaul Villarta and Michelle Naca-rio, Andrew Gabales and Jessah Mae Formentera, Radson and Venus Mae Valde of the Youth category were selected to join the elite team of the DTCC.

Chosen to make up the juniors division were partners Neil Chris Pepito and Niña Sushmita Pinili, Elvirt Zapanta and Jeysiree Nanca and John Edward Gomez and Cesli Marie Cagalawan.

In the juvenile category, tandems of Jace Philip Piner and Princess Crislenn Torres, Elton and Eliza Zapanta, Janssen Sampiano and Patricia Calumpang were picked to form the team.

The chosen dancers joined last year’s free Barangay Summer Workshop and were persistent the whole year round in joining barangay contests and train at the CCSC dance sport studio.

The Youth category is for dance athletes who are 16 to 18 years old, while the juniors division is for the 12 to 15 years old dancers. The juvenile is for athletes six to 11 years of age. (EKA)
