DAVID G. Lim took Manila by storm as he conquered the Race Wars Philippines Auto Cross Challenge, a big motoring event organized by Danny San-tiago at the Clark Expo in Pampanga last Saturday.
The Cebuano ace driver and his son David Jr., brought home seven trophies including three first places, an overall title to boost his already full trophy room.
Top drivers from Metro Manila and Central Luzon joined the race and the Lim’s father-and-son tandem was the only team from the southern Philippines that joined the race.
DGL won the top spots in the 1600-2 liter cc class, 2-liter open category and the overall title for snatching the best time clocking of the day.
It was his third straight overall championship in Auto Cross races.
First, he won the overall title in Autocross in December 2007 held at the CICC, organized by Danny Santiago and in Jan. 19, 2008, organized by Neil Labrador, still at the CICC in Mandaue City reclamation area.
The Auto Cross titles had asserted David Lim’s dominance at the track as it came at the heels of another record-setting race during the 6th Mayor Tomas Osmeña Drag Race last Feb. 23 and 24 at the SRP.
DGL won the most prestigious Quick 8 Open title and recorded another Philippines’ fastest car record, wiping his old one set just in October of last year.
Last February, DGL erased the 9.882 seconds quarter-mile run to a new 9.817 seconds, the Philippines fastest car of all time. (RCM)
