A MEMBER-company of the Ayala group has adopted a set of guidelines on global reporting to measure its performance, not only in the financial aspect, but also in terms of its environmental and social relevance.
Cebu Holdings Inc. (CHI) registered its first Triple Bottom Line Reporting last Wednesday, based on the Global Reporting Initiative G3 Guidelines (GRI).
“GRI is an organization that utilizes multi-stakeholder process for creating and reviewing a set of sustainability reporting (of) performance indicators,” said Francis Monera, CHI president.
This initiative was announced by the company during its annual stakeholders’ meeting last Tuesday.
CHI is now the third company in the country to adopt the GRI-compliant sustainability report, following the footsteps of sister company Ayala Land. The Asian Development Bank also adopted the same guidelines in its sustainability reporting.
Monera said since the company’s business processes now conform to global standards, it has strengthened its efforts towards sustainability.
More efficient
“(It also) made our systems more effective and efficient, reducing expense and contributing more to the company’s bottom line,” he added.
In making its annual report, CHI included G3 indicators, such as organizational profile, report parameters, governance, commitments and engagement, as well as
economic, environmental and social performance indicators.
With an integrated annual and sustainability report, Monera said the company can guarantee the open and transparent communication of its processes.
“(Full disclosure) is a requisite for sustained growth and building investor confidence,” he said.
The company has been conforming to international standards on quality, environment, and occupational health and safety since 2005. (DME)
