Son of ex-LTO chief arrested over traffic
THE son of Land Transportation Office (LTO) 7 Director Alex Leyson was arrested yesterday for resistance, disobedience, and drunkenness.
Mark Anthony Leyson, 26, was caught around 3 a.m. after mobile patrol officers chased him for not following traffic rules.
Mabolo, Cebu City police said Leyson disregarded the traffic light at the Escario St.-Gorordo Ave. junction while driving a grey Pajero (OAL 888).
He was ordered to stop but allegedly drove away instead, prompting the police to give chase.
PO3s Dindo Lumapas and Edwin Mayuela, with two other Mobile Patrol Group policemen, cornered him in Maguikay, Mandaue City.
Leyson was brought to the Cebu City Medical Center, where he tested positive for liquor. Driving under the influence is a violation of City Ordinance No. 1929.
Leyson, however, was released at 11:30 a.m. yesterday after paying a P500 fine.(Maria Nerissa D. Quiño/UP Mass Comm Intern)
