Sallymae nabs 2 titles in Guillermo Cup

SALLY Mae Siso pulled off a twinkill in the Guillermo Jose Memorial Cup which wrapped up yesterday at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Courts.

Siso, who has been trying to harness her expertise in international tournaments, showed that she had improved as she claimed the titles in the Girls 14 and Girls 16 divisions.

Not only that, Siso showed that she is better even than the country’s top players in the age group that she belongs in. In the national ranking of the Girls 14 division, Siso is only rated third to Shanine Olivarez and Macy Gonzales.

Yesterday, Siso bashed the two in the finals of the two divisions to win the titles.

Siso won the title in the Girls 14 division after trouncing Girls 14 top player Olivarez, 6-2, 6-2 to claim the title.

Later, Siso handed Gonzales another bashing when she dominated over her in the Girls 16 finals. Siso also won over Gonzales in the semifinals of the Girls 14 the other day.

Older brother Bernardine Nino Siso made up for his runner up finish in the Palarong Pambansa when he took the title in the Boys 16 division at the expense of Fritz Verdad, 6-1, 6-1.

He is set to pull off another win when he plays in the finals of the Boys 18 division today.

Meanwhile, the oldest of the Sisos, Sallydine, moved to the final round of the Girls 18 division after defeating Enah Baba, 6-4, 6-2. She arranged a final outing with Jasmine Tan Ho. (MCB)
