Group to hold medical mission

RESIDENTS of San Fernando, Cebu will get free services during a medical and dental mission on May 8.

Mabuhay FilCement Inc., a Filipino-owned cement-manufacturing firm, will partner with the Association of Government Information Officers in Region 7 (AGIO 7) and Barangay South Poblacion in the conduct of an information Caravan, medical and dental Mission and an Operation Tuli at South Poblacion Barangay Hall Courtyard.

The cement firm is launching the project in response to the request of the residents during the Mabuhay FilCement-initiated public consultation.

It is also committed to become a partner in solving community problems.

“The residents of barangays South Poblacion, North Poblacion, Panadtaran, Tonggo, Tinubdan and other nearby barangays are invited to come and avail themselves of the free medical and dental services. Aside from the medical and dental mission, representatives of various National Government agencies will come to San Fernando to render basic services,” said Neil Papas, Community Relations consultant of Mabuhay FilCement Inc.

Improve

“In our private capacity, we will support programs and institutions that improve the quality of community life. We believe that businesses and communities can work together and prosper. We want to position ourselves in the community as desirable, trusted and respected assets,” added Winnie Saniel, the Project Management consultant

Festival

Apart from the mission, the company also aims to contribute to the cultural development of the town by constructing the mammoth stage for the launching of the 1st San Fernando Sikoy-Sikoy Festival.

It will also be held on May 8 at the San Isidro Labrador Parish grounds.

Gov. Gwen Garcia will lead the launching of the festival.

Meanwhile, Mabuhay FilCement and ALA Promotions, in association with San Fernando Mayor Neneth Reluya, will also present “An Evening of Boxing,” which is a boxing extravaganza that features upcoming professional and amateur boxers of the world-renowned ALA Boxing Gym.

It will include the special appearance of world minimum weight champion Donnie “Ahas” Nietes, world-rated super flyweights Z “The Dream” Gorres and AJ “Bazooka” Banal.

The boxing will be held at the San Fernando Sports Complex on May 13 at 7 p.m.

Mabuhay FilCement is sponsoring the event, which is open to the public.
