TEHRAN—State-owned Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) earned top honors for its Management Associates Program (MAP), which was adjudged Most Outstanding Human Resource Development Project by the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP).
The award, which cited the program’s role in enhancing the professional capacities and career growth of the bank’s officers and employees, was conferred on DBP during the ADFIAP Awards Night held here in Iran last April 29 at the Esteghlal Grand Hotel.
Leadership
The MAP was particularly cited for being a premium human resource development program of DBP for attracting, hiring, and training the best candidates to assume leadership positions in key aspects of the bank’s operations.
The recognition also highlighted the program’s prime objective of attracting the best and the brightest to join the bank as DBP’s contribution to uplifting the standards of public service through the
development of a corps of dedicated, efficient and committed public servants.
Junior officers
Since its initial run in 2004, MAP has already produced 77 junior officers, most of whom have been deployed to various DBP branches to further beef up the bank’s development initiatives in the countryside.
ADFIAP is an organization of development banks and other financial institutions engaged in the financing of development in the Asia-Pacific region.
The annual ADFIAP Awards recognize and honor member-banks that have undertaken or assisted projects that have created a development impact in their respective countries by implementing or enhancing outstanding and innovative development projects. (PR)
