Liburon murders supect nabbed with high-powered firearm

A SUSPECT in the killing of three men in Barangay Liburon, Carcar City was arrested in his house and was caught in possession of a high-powered firearm.

Gregorio Racoma Rosal, who goes by the alias Cocoy Racoma, was arrested past 10 p.m. Friday in his house in Sitio Tindahan, Barangay Can-asujan, Carcar City.

He was allegedly in possession of a KG-9 submachine pistol.

Rosal told police that the gun was not his but belonged to Ryan Saducas, who is another suspect in the shooting.

The shooting in Sitio San Roque, Barangay Liburon left three persons dead.

However, Rosal’s arrest was for another shooting incident and not the recent shooting in Liburon.

SPO1 Meliton Agadier Jr., one of the arresting officers, said Racoma and several others were tagged responsible for the deaths of Almer Alcuizar, Roel Bargamento and Manuel Bacalan last April 11.

The warrant for this case is still pending.

Agadier said they were not immediately able to enter Racoma’s house because his wife and three children were inside.

He explained that they did not want the children to get hurt, especially that Racoma was armed.

However, he said Racoma’s wife later came out of the house and brought the children with her.

Sure that Racoma was alone in the house, they entered and a brief scuffle ensued.

Agadier said they had Racoma surrounded and was overpowered and disarmed of the KG-9 pistol.

“No shot was fired,” Agadier said.

During the investigation, Racoma reportedly denied any involvement in any shooting incident.

He also claimed that the firearm belonged to Saducas.

Saducas remains at large. (MEA)
