Tuesday, May 06, 2008 Abellar beats Rubi in Sagbayan motocross
JUVANNIE Abellar stamped his class in the fourth leg of the 2008 MS Motocross Series dubbed the first Sag–bayan Motocross Cup last Sunday in Sagbayan, Bohol, where he defeated Pepo Rubi.
Abellar, last year’s Rider of the Year awardee, is closing in on Rubi in the rankings, who won two of the series’ four legs. Paul Inoc placed third in last Sunday’s race.
Today, Abellar and Rubi will once more lock horns as the series shifts venue at the Municipality of Ayungon in Oriental Negros for the fifth leg.
Meanwhile, Ted Conde topped the intermediate class, which saw Wensor Famorca and Clark Wagas placing second and third places, respectively.
Michael Disbaro on the other hand, pulled off a twinkill after winning the novice enduro class and the local enduro race.
Disbaro overpowered Ayen Ledesma and Donkey Sanchez in the Novice Enduro class. Sanchez and Quemson Bato fell prey to Disbaro in the local enduro division.
Junin Lagrada on the other hand, won the Novice Production over Joseph del Socorro and Arjie Con-ui.
Rey Ytac, meanwhile, ruled the Executive A Class while Siegfred Ornopia and Nonoy Reluya placed second and third, respectively.
Winning
Ytac also won the Executive B class, while Ricky Coca and Nonoy Reluya settled for runners up finish.
Gener Sicad on the other hand, topped the Executive C division as Butch Flores and Manuel Wagas placed behind.
In the Beginners Production division, Lagrada won over Ledesma and Ryan Alquisol, while Kent Canape won the Mini Class over Reynan Alquisola.
In the Peewee class, Peewee Galia defeated Neil Ytac and Flyn Rueras for the title. (RCM)
