Wednesday, May 07, 2008 Bamasko sweeps 2008 Mayor’s karatedo
BAMASKO dominated the 2008 Mayor’s Cup Karatedo Open Championship last April 19 and 20 at the Barangay Mabolo Sports Complex with a total of nine gold medals from the kata and kumite events.
The gold medal winners from Bamasko were Kent Juban for the 60-kg. men’s kumite, Mark Glendel Guinamos for the 55-kg., men’s kumite, Kent Juban for the 16 to 17 boy’s kumite, Korina Enclona for 12 to 13 girl’s kumite, Cyra Mae Enero for 10 to 11 girls kumite, Princess Kaye Bantigue for 8 to 9 girl’s kumite, Chad Morales for the 13 to 17 boy’s kata, Jhun Bert Gabona for boy’s special kumite seven years old and below and Precious Kay Bantigue for girl’s special kata seven years old and below.
All the other stables were far from the gold medal tally with the Association for the Upliftment of Karatedo (AUK) being the closest with four gold medals.
The event was sponsored by the Cebu City Government and hosted by Lincoln Self Defense Karatedo Club. (EKA)
