Festin-Baybay: Staying Healthy
By Tita Dulce Festin-Baybay
That's Right!

THAT’S right, Kidsters! I want you all to stay healthy this summer. You know what I learned while I was growing up? I want to tell you this again and again until it becomes a habit.

What I want you to do to stay healthy is to always wash your hands. That’s right!  I wrote about this before and I will be writing about it again and again. You see, Kidsters, I learned that keeping our hands clean is one way of driving way dirt including the horrendous bacteria that goes with it. This is the reason why our parents always tell us to wash our hands before eating.

Also wash your hands after eating as well.  Do you know why? Because when we eat, whatever has stuck in our hands may enter our mouths if we don’t wash it away.

Let me ask you this, Kidsters. How do you feel every time you wash your hands?  Don’t you feel refreshed? Don’t you feel healthy? This is exactly what I mean when I ask you again and again to always wash your hands. Now, do you have to use soap everytime you wash? As much as possible, yes.

Especially those kinds of soap that has anti-bacterial ingredients. I want to believe that these really will drive away the bacteria.  Anyway, it helps somehow.

So remember, Kidsters: summertime is just about to end. Let’s keep healthy by washing our hands.
