Developers offer Makati condo to Cebu market

CONSTRUCTION on the first tower of a residential condominium project in Makati City, The Beacon, is set to be completed in 2011.

The Beacon—a joint project of New Pacific Resources Management Inc. (NPRMI), EEI Corp. and Geo-Estate Development Corp. (GEDC)—was launched in Cebu last Friday in the hope of getting Cebuano buyers.

“Cebuanos are known to be knowledgeable and very discerning. We wanted to do something to be of significance to them and provide something others have not done,” said GEDC chairman and chief executive officer Francis Licuanan III.

He said that since it first broke ground in January this year, over 65 percent of units at The Beacon have already been sold,.

With a total lot area of 9,344 square meters, the size of the units is what differentiates The Beacon from other high-rise developments, said Licuanan. “There is more room to breathe,” he added.

He pointed that the location of The Beacon is strategic. “Everything is within walking distance. You can walk to Greenbelt, Glorietta, Don Bosco, Walter Mart and other significant places in Makati,” he said.

Eduardo C. Tautjo of Earthauz Inc. said Cebuanos who frequent Manila will find the project attractive.

The Beacon project will include two towers—one will have 44 storeys while the other will be 50-storey high. The condo complex will feature a gym, spa, resort pool and a mini theater, among others. (Tawny Gwynne M. Estolloso, STC Mass Comm Intern)
