Best of Pinoy foodfest at Pino!

THE best of Filipino cuisine drawn out from the cauldrons of two of the country’s top gastronomic wizards would be spread out at Pino! Restaurant to challenge and treat the discriminating palates of Cebuanos in an ala carte lunch and buffet dinner on May 20 and 21.

Consider these fares as teasers before the actual experience: paksiw na pata with bulaklak ng saging, boneless chicken barbecue, spruced it up with camote tops malunggay salad and what does one have? A “curiously” appetizing, uniquely blended, exotically reinvented menu from two families’ cookery engagements for four generations.

Think of the rest of these concoctions that would be laid out for the sheer taste of it all inside an elegantly covered high-end food sanctuary.

There are two ladies steering the two-day enterprise towards a most singular dining experience.

Nancy Reyes Lumen is a byword among food enthusiast. Not surprisingly, for she co-authored with Ronnie Alejandro, a Most Outstanding Filipino Overseas Awardee for Culture and Cuisine, the book, Abodo Code, and is the TV Host in the long-running RPN-USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia aired “Kusina Ni Nancy.”

Cely Kalaw, is a Batangueña also born with a silver ladle in her hand extended from great grandparents. With her brother Etring Kalaw, they concocted the now famous Bicol Express.
