STARSTRUCK residents of the new northern city of Bogo will have a field day tomorrow as two of the hottest young stars these days will grace the final grand draw of Gaisano stores’ A Million Thanks Raffle Promo.

Iya Villania and Joross Gamboa are Ms. Rosemarie Gaisano’s celebrity guests. Up for grab is the last of the three Mazda cars and a number of appliances. So if you aim to have something to drive on the way home and onwards, you only have a few hours left to shop, secure raffle tickets and get the chance to win.

Until now, I still am a little upset of the early exit of PBB housemate Josef Elizalde whom I earlier saw as a strong contender for the top prize. He showed his text vote drawing strength in the past evictions when the other nominees were males.

In the last nomination though, his fellow candidates were females. There’s this question though that kept my hope alive of seeing Josef be included in the Big Four: will he stage a comeback as a wild card? Will he return when rumored special friend Nicole is already out of the house?

Hopefully.

Cebuana model Karla Henry succeeded in winning the Ms. Phils.-Earth 2008 crown. She was a runner-up in the Ms. Mandaue tilt followed by another runner-up finish in the Ms. Cebu search a couple of years back.

Though she was one of the front-runners in the recent Bb. Pilipinas ’08 pageant, she was denied the honor of bringing home a title, not even a runner-up slot. That makes her recent winning the Ms. Phils.-Earth title not just an ordinary victory but a vindication just as well.

Congratulations, pretty lady!

Without prior notice, come-backing matinee idol Gabby Concepcion breezed into town and staged a mini concert at the SM City Cebu Entertainment Plaza last Sunday. Because I was caught unaware of his coming, I failed to catch up his show but was able to interview him nonetheless over dinner.

He was still the same Gabby I saw on TV, magazines and sometimes in the movies. Stars coming to Cebu was as rare as a whiff of cold air on a summer day 13 years ago unlike these days.

I can see his excitement as he talked about his coming projects including movies under GMA Films and Star Cinema aside from TV assignments and product endorsements which had gotten him entangled in controversies.

He takes into consideration daughter KC Concepcion’s reactions regarding movie assignments especially those that may require him to engage in sexy scenes. He’s also open to projects that may team him up with former sweethearts including ex-wife Sharon Cuneta. Materialization has to depend on the other parties though.

Cebuana power belter Dulce’s recent Mothers’ Day show at the SM City Cebu Northwing indeed lived up to its billing as a mothers’ day special. She not only delighted mothers in the audience, she also showed a female performer’s mother side.

She gladly shared the limelight with her five children. Daniel Joseph, the eldest, did the voice over signaling the start of the show. Second son, David Ezra, did the The Prayer with his famous mother and refused to be eclipsed.

Dulce excitedly divulged that Dave is a UST Conservatory of Music student. Daughters Dana and Jemimah sang themes from animated movies with their thrilled mom. Even barely a year old Abigail enjoyed the attention while cuddled by her mom onstage.

The show was what we describe in jest when members of a family play significant roles in an undertaking as “a wholesome family affair.” With a delightful performance such as that, who cares as to who are in the cast, anyway? Or does it matter?
