Arum lines up Pacquiao vs. Campbell

WITH Filipino ring icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao still weeks away from his debut into the lightweight scene against World Boxing Council lightweight king David Diaz, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum already has another title fight planned for him, a unification bout against World Boxing Association, World Boxing Organization and International Boxing Federation lightweight titleholder Nate Campbell.

According to www.boxingconfidential.com Arum, Pacquiao’s promoter, has tentatively offered Cambell a $3 million to have a unification bout with the WBC super featherweight titlist before the years ends.

That is after Pacquiao dethrones Diaz and grabs his fourth division title.

John David Jackson, Cambell’s trainer, believes that his pugilist must grab the opportunity and accept this fight because he thinks that Pacquiao fits Campbell’s style.

“We talked about it. I told Nate he’d be a fool not to take that. Pacquiao is tailor made in style for Nate. Freddie (Roach) isn’t suddenly going to try to make Manny be evasive. Manny just has one style, coming forward and throwing bombs,” Jackson told boxingconfidential.com.

Cambell captured the three belts after beating Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz.

Meanwhile, Ricky Hatton also has shown his interest with a fight against the Filipino superstar, next to a rematch with WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr.

“Although I’d like to think I’ve got my next three fights mapped out – Lazcano, Malignaggi, and we’re talking about Mayweather. I’d like it to be Mayweather obviously but if not, Manny might be a fantastic second,” Hatton told saddoboxing.com. (EKA)
