Telco installs WiFi at SWU

GLOBE Broadband makes it easy and convenient for the students, faculty and staff of Southwestern University to access the Internet as it turns the school into a WiFi (Wireless Fidelity) zone.

WiFi is a wireless network technology used by Globe to set up hotspots around the campus, where students can congregate to enjoy Internet access. Having WiFi facilities on campus will allow the members of the school community to send and read emails, surf the web and do some research anywhere on school grounds.

Southwestern University and Globe Broadband have also made it affordable for the students and faculty to get high-speed Internet access within the campus as users will pay only for the time they are online. With the use of Globe Broadband prepaid cards, students and faculty members can connect to the Internet at the WiFi hotspots and broadband kiosks.

The new partnership between Southwestern University and Globe Broadband for the WiFi zone will boost the students’ learning potential by providing them the latest technology to achieve the highest standard of education.

“Globe Broadband intends to make Internet access available to the Filipino youth as this can be a powerful tool to support their education. We want to make relevant information and knowledge accessible to every student wherever they may be,” said Jojo D. Manansala, Globe Broadband trade channels sales head.

Special Globe Broadband packages will also be offered to the students and faculty of the university. They can avail of Globe Broadband’s Asus Eee PC bundle, which offers them a laptop computer and Internet connection at a speed of up to 384 kilobytes per second.

Students and faculty can visit the Globe Broadband booth at Southwestern University Bookstore for these packages. (PR)
