Tuesday, May 20, 2008 Aguilar rules Moalboal Motocross
THE country’s top motocross rider Glenn “Da King” Aguilar showed the local riders who’s the boss at the race track as he swept the oppositions with his exceptional riding skills to win both the Expert and Pro Open Divisions of the 7th leg of the 2008 MS Motosuit Motocross Series in the Municipality of Moalboal, Cebu last Saturday.
Aguilar did it despite riding a less powerful 250cc motorbike, compared to the 450cc bikes that his opponents rode.
The 34-year-old Aguilar used his exceptional skills and quick reflexes to beat the opponents by at least half a lap in two heats in both categories.
However, series organizer Lou Ornopia said that Aguilar’s victory did not earn him a point at all since it is a blow out competition for the only Filipino rider who won an Asian Motocross title.
Placing behind Aguilar in the Expert Division were Jon Jon Adlawan and Erwin Uypitching, while in the Pro Open Uypitching and Adlawan were second and third, respectively.
Adlawan meanwhile ruled the Intermediate Open Division beating Weng Laparcon and Rex Barbaso, who placed second and third, respectively.
In the Novice Open Production, Clark Wagas placed first after two heats while Ryan Alquisola and Rex Barbaso took the next two places.
Dongkey Sanchez won the Novice Open Enduro title over Bonnie Bustillo and Ryan Querol.
Sanchez also ruled the Local Enduro division after defeating Bustillo and Querol.
In the Executive A division, Siegfred Ornopia won his third straight leg over Jun Enriquez and Dondon Famador.
Gener Sicad hand won the Executive B title over Joy Jopson and Manuel Wagas, while Titing Sicad ruled the Executive C Division over Butch Flores and Manuel Wagas.
Ryan Alquisola, on the other hand, won the Beginners Production and the Mini Division titles.
Sanchez and John John Flores took the top three of the Beginners Production, while Keith Galaura won the Mini Class. (RCM)
