Uptown FC to hold UP Centennial Cup

IN commemoration of the 100th year since the founding of the University of the Philippines in 1908, the Uptown United Football Club will be hosting the UP Centennial Cup on June 7 to 9 at the UP Cebu College football grounds.

The tournament will cater to a total of 16 teams in the Men’s Open category. Thirteen teams have already confirmed their participation in the tournament and the organizers are also expecting teams from outside Cebu to join the event.

The Men’s Open category will be a nine-a-side tournament with a maximum of 18 players per squad.

Aside from the Men’s Open category there will also be a Women’s Open in which 10 teams are expected to join.

The Women’s category will be seven-a-side

The games in the eliminations will have a game time of 30 minutes, while the finals and semifinals will have 40 minutes.

A registration fee of P2,000 each team is required to be able to join the competition.

There will also be an exhibition game between the home team UP Selection and the organizers the Uptown United FC.

This is the second tournament the Uptown United FC has arranged. Their last tournament was the 1st Uptown United Invitational Cup in April 19 and 20.
