DEL Monte Golf and Country Club’s Louie Mariano regained his deadly form to take the Day 1 lead of the Boys Class A Division in the fourth Leg of the VisMin Youth Golf Circuit at the Cebu Country Club yesterday.
Mariano started the day with 34 on the front nine and finished his routine with a 37 on the back nine for his round of 71, beating Cheepe Dulay of the Negros Oriental Golf and Country Club for the lead.
Dulay had a slow 74, while Jan-Jan Ybañez of the host club took third with 75.
In the Girls Class A division, Kristine Leonen and Mian Woo both of Del Monte GCC shared the lead after tallying identical 80, while Juliene Pacetes of Mactan Island Coral Golf and Country Club followed closely at third with an 81.
In the Boys Class B, Lloyd Jefferson Go of CCC paced the pack with a 75 while Vijay Vasandani of Mactan and Clyde Montilla of Del Monte are tied for second with 80.
In the Girls side. Irina Gabasa of Alta Vista GCC looked good in her quest for back-to-back leg titles with her 77, taking a one-stroke lead in her group going into the final round today.
Following closely were Abby Olea of CCC and Apple Fudolin of Del Monte who were tied with 78.
Marco Oliver Los Baños of Del Monte paced the Boys C division with a 78, a comfortable six strokes ahead of teammate Patrick Fudolin. Harvey Sytiongsa of CCC was third with 86.
Juily Vasandani of Mactan ruled the Girls Class C side with 87 followed by Christine Caminade of San Juanico GCC (89) and Yukari Tatara of CCC (90).
Four
Jelbert Gamolo of Del Monte topped the Boys Class D with 77, four strokes clear of Carl Chabon of Pueblo (81), while Marc Georgio Go of Alta Vista was a distant third with a 93.
In the Girls Class D, Racheta Vasandani of Mactan seemed headed for the title after shooting a 76 yesterday, becoming the only one in her class to break 80.
Pamela Mariano of Del Monte was a distant second with an 89, while Carrie Sytiongsa of CCC took third with 92.
The Boys E had Wei Wei Go leading the pack with 35 followed by Shailesh Vasandani of Mactan with 37 and Russel Bautista with 38, while Lois Kaye Go of CCC led the girls side with 37.
Sofia Chabon of Pueblo (45) and Junia Gabasa of Alta Vista (48) took second and third, respectively. (RCM)
