Monday, June 02, 2008 Speak Out: Taking action By Ritchie D. Nolasco Banilad, Cebu City
IT IS safe to say that the horror stories and complaints regarding Cebu Pacific are true and undeniable. Not only is their customer service very bad, they have complete disregard for their passengers’ concerns and welfare.
How can they not act when their flights get delayed or canceled, when they manipulate flight bookings at the expense of honest-paying passengers, and when they overcharge consumers on online transactions? Their disregarding of us common people is not only disturbing but also irresponsible and insulting.
We as a people should band together and show Cebu Pacific that what they’re doing is unacceptable on all levels of society. Their being a budget airline is not an excuse. I should encourage those who read this to speak out loud by:
1. Publishing their stories online, on the papers or even on TV/Radio.
2. Boycotting Cebu Pacific entirely (better get another airline’s service).
3. Compiling all pieces of evidence and file a class suit against Cebu Pacific.
4. Post videos of Cebu Pacific’s disregard of its passengers on online video sharing sites like Youtube and Yahoo! Video. They will make good evidence that the public can easily access.
5. Urging Provincial Capitol to investigate Cebu Pacific’s operations to create transparency.
Let’s keep in mind that Cebu Pacific is ruining Cebu’s beautiful name and are also giving Cebuanos a bad image. Don’t forget that the airline’s pathetic service and continued disregard towards us is another great reason why the Philippines must implement the Open Skies plan.
People, let’s get organized and make Cebu Pacific change itself. We should not let they get away!
