THE Cebu Garden Club will have its induction of officers and board of directors on Friday, June 6 at 4 p.m. at No. 4th Beverly View, Beverly Hills, Lahug, Cebu City. We received a pleasantly scented invitation reminding us, yes, of a flower garden!

Speaking of flowers, Montebello Villa Hotel, in cooperation with Artwalk-Cebu, has opened an art show, Flores De Montebello, a painting exhibit of the flowers in the hotel garden, as interpreted by various artists.
Special guests mesdames Carmen Go, Paulette Liu, Rosebud Sala, and Penny Williams, and lone gentlemen Louie

Wonder Women as professionals, or in business make up the selective membership of the Zonta Club of Cebu 2, now marking another Beinnum for 2008-2010. Simple induction ceremonies took place at Ginza Restaurant recently where past Zonta president Filna Daphne Espina swore into office the new officers and board members, led by incoming Lady Achiever Elsa Basubas.
The unassuming Elsa wanted a ceremony devoid of fanfare and frills, but Zonta policies say the new officers should hold a more formal affair. And decided to have this coming Aug. 2 when the Club celebrates an anniversary.
In the meantime, seven lucky, “travelin-gest” ladies will attend the Zonta
International Convention in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, this month of June.
For sisters-in-law Jane Young Llaban, and Betty Pinat-Young, they will “do” European capitals, like Vienna, Zurich, etc., before the meet. Talk about jet-setting — Zontians are primed for it. Others in the group are: Flor Miel Cynthia Dagus, Filna Espina, Nena Young, and Elsa Basubas. Bon voyage, gals!
