Akrho man gets blamed for killing fraternity brother

AN alleged fraternity member was shot and killed while sleeping inside his house in A. Lopez St., Sitio Almacen, Barangay Calamba, Cebu City at dawn yesterday.

Jovan Garciano, 26, a trisikad driver, did not make it alive to the Cebu City Medical Center for a gunshot wound in the chest.

Investigation

In a report over TV-Patrol Cebu, Garciano’s mother, Angelina, pointed to Wilmar Dingding as the assailant. Both Garciano and Dingding were reported members of Alpha Kappa Rho.

Angelina claimed she spotted Dingding running away from their house after the incident.

Initial investigation conducted by a team of Homicide Section indicated that prior to the incident Garciano and Dingding were drinking liquor with a group of friends.

An argument between Garciano and Dingding, however, ensued that nearly resulted in a fistfight had it not for the intervention of their friends.

Last week the two also figured in an argument.

Complaint

Garciano and Dingding later went home.

At around 3 a.m. yesterday, Dingding allegedly went inside Garciano’s house and shot him.

Police went to Dingding’s house to arrest him but the latter was no longer around.

A murder complaint will be filed against Dingding. (JST)
